Work-at-Home Scams

As a retired person, working from home has a nice ring to it. But sometimes too nice. Work-at-home scams have been around for many years – however, in the past few years, the US Federal Trade Commission has seen the number of complaints nearly double.

Some obvious red flags to look out for:

  • Work-at-home jobs bragging through emails promising to pay more than you ever dreamed of.
  • Companies that charge you a fee to obtain more information about a job. Payment for the privilege of working is rarely acceptable.
